【MANDATORY HOUSE RULES REGARDING NOISE】
We kindly ask for your immediate cooperation regarding noise levels. Ichinen is a traditional Japanese "Machiya" (terrace house) that shares a common structural wall with the neighboring residence. Due to this wooden structure, all vibrations and sounds travel directly into the next-door home.
To ensure your stay is not interrupted by complaints from the local community or authorities, we strictly require all guests to observe the following:
MANDATORY INDOOR SLIPPERS: You must wear the provided slippers at all times. This is the only way to dampen the sound of footsteps on the wooden floors.
NO "HEEL-WALKING" OR RUNNING: Please walk softly, especially on the stairs and the second floor. "Heel-walking" (heavy impact) creates vibrations that the neighbor documents as a disturbance.
STRICT QUIET HOURS (9:00 PM – 8:00 AM): During these hours, please keep voices to a minimum and avoid moving heavy luggage or furniture. Sound is significantly amplified at night.
CLEANING & EQUIPMENT: Please do not allow suitcases or any equipment to strike the walls or baseboards.
Notice: We have recently received formal complaints regarding noise from this property. To prevent further escalation with the neighborhood association or local authorities, we ask for your absolute mindfulness.
